Waynflete Lower School classrooms are warm, welcoming, and wonder-filled spaces where students feel comfortable tackling big challenges and trying new things.
Our dedicated faculty are given the time and resources to get to know each student’s strengths and interests, and teachers are passionate about designing unique and engaging learning experiences to foster student growth.
Two Years of Togetherness
Young children yearn to feel close to trusted adults and connected to a wider community. Waynflete students spend two years with the same advisor so teachers can better know each child, customize their learning experiences, and develop a long-lasting connection.
Connecting with Families
Lower School teachers partner with parents to support student progress and respond quickly to any questions or concerns. At drop-off or pickup, by phone or email, and during parent-teacher conferences, teachers and families can share their pride in each student’s progress.
A Tight-Knit Team
Waynflete Lower School faculty take a team approach to teaching, weaving the arts, physical education, world languages, and more into classroom learning. Whether students are in the art room, gym, or Innovation Lab, they are often exploring a big idea or complex concept through many different lenses.
Blended Classrooms, Better Outcomes
Why does Waynflete combine two grades in each classroom? We understand learning is a process and spending time with older or younger children accelerates progress. The close connections forged across grades within our small class sizes strengthen our whole community.
